Congratulations to Rachelle Taylor, a third year law student, who says she was “dumbfounded” when told she won this scholarship. Taylor is a native Fresnan, but came to SJCL with her bachelor’s degree in English from San Diego State University. She hopes to eventually become a civil litigator in employment law with a focus on employer defense. She is currently a law clerk for the Sutton Hatmaker Law Corporation in Fresno, which focuses on employment consultation and litigation.
Meanwhile, she has tirelessly advocated helping people with disabilities to remain in the workforce. To this end, she has served as an Adjunct Professor and Lecturer in Disability Education at Point Loma Nazarene University and is Chair of the City of Fresno’s Disability Advisory Commission.
While Taylor jokes it’s “so nice not to have to borrow every penny to go to law school,” she quickly adds that winning the FCBA Scholarship is also an incredible honor. Taylor was also honored last year when she was named the recipient of the Clovis Women’s Soroptimist Scholarship.
