The Law Office of Jeremy M Dobbins is looking for a Certified Law Clerk. Investigative duties
include:
- Creating an Investigative Plan for each assigned case which consist of Personal Injury, Professional Negligence, Wrongful Termination, Whistle Blower, Wage & Hour, Elder Abuse, Public Entity Litigation, Criminal Defense, and various complex matters.
- Drafting Civil and Criminal Subpoenas to procure documents and things for Attorneys to review and approve.
- Investigate the scene of accidents, take photographs, and gather evidence
- Locate and interview witnesses.
- General administrative duties ie. answering correspondence and taking telephone calls.
- Manage Criminal Investigations
- Search for and locate Experts for Civil and Criminal matters
- Draft Motions to procure third party information
- Prepare Discovery for Criminal Matters
- Draft Special Interrogatories and RFPD’s to be propounded for Civil Matters
- Draft Letters & Correspondence as appropriate
- Work with External Private Investigators
Law Clerk duties include:
- Brief writing
- Legal research
- Assistance with drafting Writs, appeals, oppositions, and motions
- Make Civil and Criminal Court Appearances (Certified Law Clerk)
- Defend and take Depositions (Certified Law Clerk)
- Attend Civil Motion Hearings (Certified Law Clerk)
- Be Certified or soon to be.
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in experience and/ or a future working with Criminal and Civil Rights litigation. There may also be opportunity for a future Associate position after successful passing of the bar exam.
