Modern Legal PC is a civil litigation firm, focusing on real estate and business law, owned and operated by SJCL alumni with an immediate opening for a part-time Law Clerk.
The position will assist with drafting discovery, drafting law and motion papers, drafting demand letters, conducting research, assisting with trial preparation, and other drafting/projects at the attorney’s direction. The position is paid and qualifies for clinical units for those students seeking to fulfill elective requirements. Applicants should be either a 3L or 4L student, who has already completed or is enrolled in Evidence.
The position will work one-on-one with the attorney and gain invaluable civil litigation experience. The Firm is open to participating in the Certified Law Student program for qualified candidates. The position is in-office, during business hours with consistently kept hours from week-to-week. However, scheduling will be flexible to accommodate the candidate’s classes, final examinations, and study hours.
Although experience is not necessary, qualified candidates will possess excellent writing and legal analysis skills, good communication and problem-solving skills, good grammar skills, the ability to follow specific instructions, demonstrate attention to detail, and be well-organized.
