We are seeking an Immigration Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immigration law, asylum, family-based immigration, U-visa cases, VAWA cases, naturalizations, and DACA.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing applications for immigration benefits for eligibility, completeness, accuracy, and sufficiency of evidence.
- Representing clients during interviews at USCIS and during hearing before the immigration court (The Executive Office for Immigration Review, ("EOIR")).
- Consulting with clients and potential clients regarding their immigration status, options for relief, and relevant changes in immigration law.
- Conduct thorough legal research to stay updated on immigration laws and policies.
- Drafting and submitting briefs to USCIS, EOIR, BIA, and Ninth Circuit.
- Supervise legal assistants.
- Manage deadlines.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Admitted to practice law in at least one state or the District of Columbia. (Immigration is a federal practice and thus admission to the California state bar is not necessarily required.)
- Experience handling asylum cases and/or matters before the immigration court is preferred. Experience handling family-based immigration, U-visa cases, VAWA cases, naturalizations, and DACA is helpful.
- Fluency or proficiency in Spanish is required.
