Civil Trial Practice

Professor Park grew up in Southern California. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.98 GPA from Long Beach State. At graduation, he received numerous awards as Chief Justice of the Student court, student representative to the Faculty Senate, and Outstanding graduating Senior from ASI. He also was a member of the LB State’s Fencing team. From 1973 to 1976 he attended UCLA School of Law and was one of the top 5 competitors on its Moot Court Team, and selected to the “Order of Barristers”. In 1976, he was recruited to join the Fresno law firm McCormick, Barstow, Sheppard, Wayte and Carruth and began to handle civil litigation primarily for insurance companies. He became a partner in 1980 and after completing over 20 Superior or Federal court civil jury trials to verdict was admitted to ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates). He has currently tried to verdict over 75 civil jury trials representing individuals, businesses and insurance companies in a wide variety of cases. In 1995 he began to coach the Buchanan High Mock Trial Team for 10 years. Then in 2005, he co-founded the Fresno State Mock Trial team and coached the team for 16 years. He now coaches Justin Garza High’s mock trial team. He has served as President of the Fresno County Bar Association, and won awards for his Pro Bono Service, and the prestigious FCBA Bernie Witkin Lifetime Achievement award.
