Professor Treisman was admitted to practice law in California in 1987. He retired from the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office as a Senior Deputy and the Lead Attorney of the Writs and Appeals Unit in March of 2020. Although his career began in civil practice at the law firm of Baker, Manock & Jensen in 1989, for more than 30 years thereafter he worked as a prosecutor assigned to every major team in the DA’s Office; including homicide, sexual assault, career criminal, and the crime charging unit. He has been certified by the State Bar as a Specialist in Criminal Law and served as a Commissioner on the State Bar Criminal Law Advisory Commission from 2014 through 2018. Professor Treisman successfully litigated cases on behalf of the District Attorney’s Office in the Superior Court, the Superior Court Appellate Division, the Fifth District Court of Appeal, and the California Supreme Court. He was appointed in 2023 by the Madera Superior Court as a Court Commissioner, assigned to the AB 1058 Child Support calendar in Department 17. He presides over those matters on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
