Modern Legal PC is a civil litigation firm, focusing on real estate and business law, with an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant.
Qualifications
A qualified candidate will:
- Possess two to five (2-5) years of experience working in civil litigation, preferably.
- Be experienced with a law firm setting and the general flow of civil litigation.
- Possess excellent writing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
- Be able to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with good judgment.
- Be able to accurately transcribe and copy information.
- Be able to demonstrate and work with strong attention to detail.
- Be fluent in Spanish.
- Be able to communicate with professionalism and demonstrate strong listening skills.
- Be able to organize and manage one’s own work and tasks to complete them independently and work well as part of a team.
- Be able to quickly learn and efficiently navigate software programs, including the Firm’s practice management software.
- Retain and execute company policies and procedures.
- Be dependable.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook specifically.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The position will be expected to:
- Facilitate all aspects of document management.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.
- File, copy, index, and prepare documents for attorney review.
- Assist the attorney with drafting, proofreading, and formatting correspondence.
- Set up meetings, appointments, and reminders.
- Correspond professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
- Prepare documents for service and filing.
- Organize one's own work, appropriately prioritize tasks, and meet critical deadlines.
- Type quickly and accurately (50 wpm preferred).
- Assist with client onboarding.
- Carry out other tasks that may be assigned as needed.
The position is in-office, full-time Monday through Friday from 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. The hourly wage for the position is $18.00 - $25.00 per hour commensurate with experience and includes medical, dental, and vision insurance.
